Rose Skincare Routine: Serum, Cream and Night Oil
Share
A rose skincare routine does not need to be complicated. The simplest order is to move from the lightest, water-based step to the richer finishing layers: cleanse, mist with hydrosol if you use one, apply serum, follow with face cream and save facial oil for the final evening step.
The Herbary’s rose products have their own label-led order. Rose Face Serum is oil-based, but its directions place it before Rose Face Cream. Rose Night Oil is the final step before bed.
The quick rose skincare order
- Cleanse. Begin with clean skin and pat it gently dry.
- Mist. Spritz Rose Hydrosol over the face if a hydrosol is part of your routine.
- Apply serum. Massage a few drops of Rose Face Serum over the face and neck.
- Moisturise. Smooth on a small amount of Rose Face Cream.
- Finish at night. Press a few drops of Rose Night Oil over the face and neck as the last step.
You do not have to use every step twice a day. A useful routine is one you can repeat comfortably, so begin with the products that suit the finish you enjoy.
What each rose step adds
Rose Hydrosol: the light mist
Rose Hydrosol is an apothecary rose-water mist. The product directions place it after cleansing and before serum, oil or moisturiser. It can also be used as a light floral refresh during the day.
Allow the mist to settle before applying the next product. There is no need to soak the skin.
Rose Face Serum: the concentrated oil-based layer
Rose Face Serum combines rosehip oil and vitamin E in an oil-based serum. Apply a few drops to clean skin and massage gently over the face and neck. The Herbary’s directions suggest using it before moisturiser during the day or as part of an evening routine.
Because this serum has a richer texture than many water-based serums, start with a small amount. The word “serum” does not always tell you how a product will feel, so the formula and directions matter more than the category name.
Rose Face Cream: the moisturising step
Rose Face Cream brings together rosehip oil, rose water and rose essential oil in a soft, velvety cream. Massage a small amount over the face and neck after the serum. It can be used in the morning or evening.
If you want a shorter routine, the cream can also be used after cleansing without the other rose steps.
Rose Night Oil: the final evening layer
Rose Night Oil contains rosehip, apricot and almond oils, with rose and lavender essential oils. Use a few drops before bed and treat it as the final step, after serum or cream.
Begin with fewer drops if you prefer a lighter finish. Give the oil time to settle before your face meets the pillow.
A simple morning rose routine
For the morning, try:
- Cleanse.
- Mist with Rose Hydrosol, if wanted.
- Apply a small amount of Rose Face Serum.
- Finish with Rose Face Cream.
- Continue with your usual daytime sun protection.
Rose Night Oil is designed as an evening product, so it does not need a place in the morning routine.
A simple evening rose routine
For the evening, try:
- Cleanse thoroughly.
- Apply Rose Hydrosol if you enjoy a mist step.
- Use Rose Face Serum if you want the full layered routine.
- Smooth on Rose Face Cream.
- Press in a few drops of Rose Night Oil.
Prefer fewer layers? Choose either the serum or cream, then decide whether you want the richer finish of the night oil. The best order is still the same: lighter steps first, final oil last.
The ready-made three-step option
The Rose Skincare Ritual gathers three full-size products into one set:
- Rose Face Serum, 30ml
- Rose Face Cream, 30ml
- Rose Night Oil, 10ml
Rose Hydrosol is an optional separate first step and is not included in the three-product set.
Common questions
Should serum go before Rose Face Cream?
Yes. The directions for The Herbary’s Rose Face Serum place it before moisturiser, and Rose Face Cream is the moisturising step.
Should Rose Night Oil go before or after cream?
Use Rose Night Oil after cream as the final evening step.
Do I need hydrosol, serum, cream and oil?
No. The complete order is useful when you want a layered ritual, but you can shorten it. Cleanse, then choose the moisturising finish your skin and preferences call for.
Can I use the rose products every day?
The product directions allow daily use. Introduce one new product at a time, follow each label and patch test before first use if your skin is sensitive. Stop using a product if irritation occurs.
